As the VHMUN takes pride of place amongst the most coveted school events of the year, it also provides an admirable learning experience through which students discuss, debate and deliberate in order to resolve glaring world problems and usher in global peace and harmony. Our aim is not only to solve social, economic and political problems facing the world, but also to nurture our students with the skills and abilities to bridge the gap between cultural, traditional and linguistic barriers to become one with the world. Our aim is to create a global society in which we can thrive and flourish without hatred, fear, violence, religious and ethnic intolerance and caste and racial obstacles. The VHMUN 7 is one small step towards the attainment of these goals.
I take pleasure in the knowledge that VHMUN has turned out to be the culmination of the dream we once dared to dream about an event that will empower our youth to raise their voices against corruption, hunger, poverty, discrimination, crimes where freedom is curtailed and legal rights denied, where the human race is forced to suffer injustices and indignities. Today the world faces an escalating global climate crisis which threatens to make our existence on this earth grim and unpleasant. Our youth must stand up against these problems and work together to alleviate our miseries.
I must appreciate the tremendous efforts of my team of teachers, students and administrative staff, whose zeal and enthusiasm has nurtured the tiny VHMUN sapling and helped it to grow into a robust tree which is now spreading its roots in many directions. The VHMUN, amongst the most popular MUNs in the country, was initiated 6 years ago in 2011 at VIBGYOR High, Goregaon West, the flagship school of the VIBGYOR Group. With each passing year, the VHMUN has gone from strength to strength reaching out to numerous schools in India and abroad.
As the Organising Committee gears up to make VHMUN 7 a memorable and exhilarating event for all its participants, I wish the entire team the very best. I am sure our eager and dedicated youth will enjoy the experience and leave the event, thirsting for more.
