The 21st century has been stained by conflicts and tension. In such a precarious condition, the youth plays a very crucial role in the understanding of cultural differences for the enhancement of global peace and unity.
I, Sarthak Pandiya, am thrilled to hold the office of the Chairperson of the UNEP at VIBGYOR High Model United Nations Conference, Mumbai. I look forward to meeting you all in June and I am confident that this year’s VHMUN will be full of exciting and stimulating debate. I am also impatient to share this Model UN experience with you all the while exploring and pondering upon the prolific discussions on some dynamic international issues.
I am currently a Senior Year student at St. Xavier’s, Jaipur. I began participating in Model UN in junior high and I ended up leading my school’s MUN Club. While I have yet to officially select my stream, I am very interested in history and global affairs, and my coursework and extracurricular activities revolve heavily around those subjects. Apart from chairing conferences Pan India, I have staffed with International Conferences and Brands organisations such as the Ivy League Model UN Conference, MUNcafe and IIMUN. In addition to Model UN, I have also worked as the Head of working group on He for She UN Women Rajasthan, Youth Ambassador for India at Global Volunteer Network (GVN, UNESCO branched organisation) and Member of the Association of World Citizens (AWC). At the same time, I am currently working on my social start up IBODH an initiative to make online education more accessible in India especially to those who are deprived of it. While not inside a committee room showing off my suit and gavel, I spend time in the kitchen helping out my Mom and exploring the limitlessness of the culinary arts.
I hope you are all as excited as I am for what will be incredible committees at an incredible conference. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or concerns. See you all in June!
Curiosity may have killed the cat, but in me it engendered a journey of MUNning.
I have participated in twenty MUN conferences, of which I have chaired eight. I am this year’s Harvard MUN China Conference Assistant Director and a very passionate one at that.
My talent portal unravels from debating, theatre, dance, business to worlds one can only imagine. I am passionate about taking on responsibility and extending to the world a helping hand in the form of social service. Furthering this passion, I own a non profit organisation, wherein I practice my sense of empathy and understanding in giving back to society. This is where my sense of resolution roots from, for I am not only for diplomacy but also for help and care.
I am absolutely honoured and humbled to be your Chair, and I also assure all delegates an unforgettable experience at VHMUN 7!
