It is a great honour for me, the Chair of the Security Council, to welcome you to VHMUN 7. It is my belief that the quality of debate and the proceedings of the committee are entirely dependent on the delegates and so, I am very excited to meet you all.
I did my first MUN in 2011 in Mumbai and my passion for international relations combined with my highly developed social skills have led me to many awards and leadership positions at various MUNs since then. Thus, it gives me immense joy to state that VHMUN will be my 32nd conference.
I am currently ploughing through my final year of IB and awaiting responses from colleges. So when I meet you at VHMUN 7, I would have decided on where I will be going to pursue my International Relations major as a college freshman. Apart from a hardworking student and a seasoned public speaker, I am also a contemporary theatre actor and a Bharatanatyam dancer. Delegates would do well to keep in mind that as an Executive Board member, I believe that good research and diplomacy presented following rules of procedure are more important than just oratory skills.
If you have any questions regarding the agendas, or would simply like to introduce yourself to the Executive Board, please feel free to email my co chair, Khush Mullick and me.
We hope to see well researched and highly motivated delegates soon!
It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you to the Vibgyor High Model United Nations 7.
I am a Computer Engineering student doing my first year of B Tech at Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering, Mumbai. Apart from my keen interest in MUNing, I have a passion for acting and film making which has resulted in me working in over 150 advertisements over the course of ten years. A lover of the Security Council and The Peoples Republic of China and a true worshipper of Francis J Underwood, I strongly believe in the words, ‘We don’t succumb to terror, we make the terror.’
The United Nations Security Council is the UN’s and perhaps, the world’s most powerful committee.
Thus, it is our responsibility to keep our world safe from consuming itself due to superpowers proving who is better. It is our responsibility to prove all those people wrong who say that world peace is ‘unachievable’. It is our responsibility to ensure, that not even one bullet is fired or a single missile launched, until absolutely necessary.
What we expect from you is the definition of ‘necessary’. We want you to do extensive research, make crazy alliances and come up with comprehensive resolutions. Ensure that you make Sheldon Cooper, Harvey Specter and Francis J. Underwood look like amateurs. If you are able to accomplish everything that has been mentioned above, you may find yourself walking up to the stage when we call out your name for Best Delegate.
