“Whoever controls the media controls the mind” – Jim Morrison
The Press Corps, one of the traditional Model United Nations elements, serves a purpose unlike any of the committees. The job of a Press delegate is to cover all the happenings of the committees not only while they are in session, but also during lunch and lobbying sessions and get as much gossip as possible!
Being in Press gives you the edge over other delegates as YOU will have the ability to network with delegates from all the committees, along with the chance to interview and interact with the secretariat. (After reading this you’ve got to *sigh in awe*) A committee of this sort requires your wholehearted commitment and selfless dedication to help document the conference in all its essence and ethic and I assure you that my team of passionate writers and ubiquitous photographers will not leave any detail behind.
This is one of the most crucial elements without which a Model UN can’t be as much of a success because let’s be honest, who doesn’t like gossip? It is often said that the pen is mightier than the sword and delegates, the Press Corps will be expected to put just that to test.
I am humbly privileged to be the Head of Press Corps this year, and the excitement to work with you will enliven every passing day. Feel free to contact me over email and I will try my best to respond as quickly as possible. Together, let’s make this conference unforgettable!
It is my absolute honour and privilege to welcome you to the Vibgyor High Model United Nations 2018! My name is Eesha Gorti, and I will be the Deputy Press Head for the Press Corps for this year. The Press Corps is a crucial part of the conference, as it is our job to ensure that we preserve every detail of this glorious event for you within the La Voce Pre Conference and Post Conference newsletters.
Being a member of the Press Corps, you get everything you need to know about the Conference, both within and outside the committees. The Press members are observant, intelligent and accurate in their work, making sure to encapsulate every moment of the conference for everyone to see it through the eyes of our hardworking team. But bear in mind, that being a Press Member does not only mean that you get the chaos and the gossip of the conference, but also that you take down every word you hear, capture all the right moments and stay aware at all times, for this conference would not be the same without you.
In the words of Mad-Eye Moody, Constant Vigilance!
Looking forward to working with all of you talented souls,
Deputy Press Head
